SMEAR is a lube-tastic horror-comedy inspired by Gremlins, Tremors and Little Shop of Horrors, about a woman going in for her first pap-smear test,  starring in the lead, Sophia Di Martino of the BAFTA-nominated Flowers and Nick Mohammed (Mr Swallow 4**** The Guardian). 

It also stars Isabella Laughland (Harry Potter), comedians Ben Target (Leicester Mercury Comedian of the year), Mariam Haque, Briony Redman and Katherine Bennett Fox of The Free Association ("UK equivalent to the professionalised improv of Chicago's Second City or Upright Citizen's Brigade, the FA are it" - FestMag) and Rose Johnson from sketch-group Birthday Girls ("This is Joy" The Skinny).




Screen International Star of Tomorrow 2016, Forbes 30 under and 30 2017, Broadcast Hot Shot 2017 and on the BBC's New Talent Hotlist 2017. Kate is a Writer and Director in Film & TV with a focus on female-led stories that are as cinematic as they are funny. Sky Comedy described her as, "A huge comedy voice in the years to come" Her shorts have screened internationally at festivals including Palm Springs ShortsFest, Flickerfest and London Short Film Festival. Her work has been featured by Vimeo StaffPicks, Comedy Central and The BFI. For TV Kate directed every episode of FIVE BY FIVE for BBC/ Green Door Pictures, starring and exec-produced by Idris Elba. It was Sunday Times Critic's Pick of the Week. She also directed Vicki Pepperdine & Ellie White’s Summer Short for Sky Comedy. Briony is a writer and comedian. As a writer she won the BAFTA Rocliffe Film Script Competition 2017 and is developing a feature script with Creative England as part of the Emerging Talent Fund. She was also Shortlisted for the BAFTA Rocliffe Comedy Script 2016, has written additional material for BBC Radio 4, was Shortlisted for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum at the NYTV Festival 2012 and the Red Planet Picture Prize 2010. Briony's short, Forget-Me-Not screened internationally at festivals inc. Palm Springs Shortsfest 2014 and Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2014. She has taken a number of shows up to the Edinburgh fringe festival as a writer-performer, inc. at The Pleasance "Theory of Positivity" 2017 & "Secret Show" 2016 ("Effortlessy feel-good" The Skinny). She is a member of The Free Association (“The UK has an equivalent to the professionalised improv of Chicago’s Second City or Upright Citizens Brigade” Fest Mag). Briony is represented as a Writer and Performer by NRH Management. http://www.brionyredman.com



An EIFF TALENT LAB ’17 Alumnus, Douglas was recently selected by SCOTTISH FILM TALENT NETWORK as one of four emerging producers to attend TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL as part of their professional development scheme. His films have been featured on platforms including NOWNESS, SHUDDER, SHORT OF THE WEEK and VIMEO STAFF PICK PREMIERES. The films have screened internationally at festivals including SUNDANCE, SUNDANCE LONDON, BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL, FANTASTIC FEST and FANTASIA. They have won multiple awards including the MELIES D’ARGENT at SITGES’16 for the festival favorite DAWN OF THE DEAF and BEST BRITISH SHORT at RAINDANCE ’16 for HEALEY’S HOUSE.
